Yaha.K es un gusano variante del Yaha.J, reportado el 24 de Diciembre del 2002 de propagación masiva a través mensajes de correo con Asuntos, Contenidos y archivos Anexados aleatorios con extensiones .SCR, .EXE y .COM que usa su propio servidor SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) y se auto-envía a todos los buzones de correo de la Libreta de Direcciones de Windows (WAB).
Es un PE (Portable Ejecutable) e infecta los sistemas operativos Windows 95/98/NT/Me/2000/XP, incluyendo los servidores NT/2000
Está desarrollado en Visual C++, con una extensión de 33.5 KB y comprimido con el utilitario UPX (Ultimate Packer for eXecutables):

El gusano además modificará la siguiente llave de registro, agregando nav32_loader.exe con el propósito de activarse cada vez que se ejecute cualquier archivo con extensión .EXE, realizando cada vez todo el proceso de infección, incluyendo el auto-envío masivo de mensajes de correo.

Luego el gusano intentará terminar los procesos de los Antivirus, Firewalls y sistemas de Seguridad:
